NOTOS® Multi Screw Pump

The family of NOTOS® Multi Screw Pump has a superior quality to meet the demands of high standards of our customers. Having the NETZSCH High Efficiency Unique Design (HEUD), the multiple screw pump covers a wide range of applications.

Working Principle

The pumps are designed to work with low to high lubricant fluids, low to high viscosity, shear sensitive and/or chemically aggressive media.

2 NS - Two Screw Pump
This pump operates with a drive screw intermeshing with a driven screw transferring torque from one to the other. The screws are surrounded by the pump housing made of ferrous material. The screw geometry and the housing form the pumping chamber. Rotation, screw diameter, and screw pitch define the pump‘s flow rate. The product lubricates the internals. Four special bushings keep the screws aligned. The axial force resulting from the pumping motion is practically nothing due to the pump’s hydraulic balancing.

3 NS - Three Screw Pump
This pump operates with a drive screw intermeshing with two driven screws transferring torque from one to the other. The screws are surrounded by the pump housing made of ferrous material. 4 NS - Four Screw Pump (geared twin)
Two shafts with four screws rotate inside a liner. The screws do not touch each other, and do not touch the liner. There is no metal-to-metal contact in this pump type. Synchronization of the two shafts is effected by a pair of timing gears remote from the pump chamber. The fluid is pumped from the extremities towards the center. The pumping chamber is formed by the four screws and the liner.

2 NS - Two Screw Pump

Suitable for light or heavy lubricating products with medium to high viscosity

The NOTOS® Two Screw Pumps have a drive screw intermeshing with a driven screw, transferring torque from one screw to the other.

  • Flow up to 500 m/h³ (2200 gpm)
  • Pressure up to 16 bar (236 psi)
  • Temperature up to 300°C (570°F)
  • Viscosity up to 10,000 cSt

The main advantages are hydraulically balanced, quiet operation, long lifetime in service and flow without pulsation.

 

 


3 NS - Three Screw Pump

Suitable for clean products, high lubricity and medium to high viscosities

The NETZSCH Three Screw Pumps have one drive screw intermeshing with two driven screws, transfering torque from one screw to the others.

  • Flow up to 200 m/h³ (880 gpm)
  • Pressure up to 80 bar (1160 psi)
  • Temperature up to 300°C (570°F)
  • Viscosity up to 10.000 cSt

4 NS - Four Screw Pump (geared twin)

Suitable for low to high lubricity, low to high viscosities and able to pump light abrasive products

The NOTOSTM Four Screw Pumps (Geared Twin Screw Pumps) have two shafts with four screws rotating inside a cartridge with timing gears. No contact metal against metal.

  • Flow up to 1500 m/h³ (6600 gpm)
  • Pressure up to 80 bar (1160 psi)
  • Temperature up to 300°C (570°F)
  • Viscosity up to 50.000 cSt

The main advantages are that there is no metal contact, complies with API 3rd edition, small footprint and long operational lifetime.
